Feel Better Soon

Hello out there...sorry for my delayed absence!  We are on Spring Break around these parts and enjoying it thoroughly!  I have a Mint Motif card to share with you today, using the two newly released sets, Beyond Borders, Too and Simply Sentiments.  In case I haven't mentioned it (haha) these are two fabulously versatile sets that you will definitely want to add to your collection!  They are available exclusively at i {heart} papers along with so many other fabulous things!  I created a simple background using the hexagon stamp in Beyond Borders, Too and some Memento ink from the Sorbet Scoops collection.  I also made a simple layered flower with some Hero Arts/Sizzix dies, sponging the edges with the same pink ink.  I stamped the sentiment three times on small scraps of cardstock - perfect use for those scraps!  I added a cute pink button threaded with twine to the center of the flower too!  A simple and uplifting little card!!
That's all today, have a wonderful Easter this weekend!  We plan to celebrate with family, friends and lots of chocolate!!

Friend Like You

Happy Friday (well almost)!  I have another fun Mint Motif card to share with you tonight!  I love all things polka dotted so I was happy to see that Kimberly included a polka dot border in the new Beyond Borders, Too set!  A perfect addition to the set for sure!  I embossed the dots on pale grey cardstock to give them a little bit of shine and umph!  Then I added a label and heart die cuts from the Authentique Uncommon collection.  Lastly I added that fabulous sentiment from Simply Sentiments and some sparkly glitter on the edges.  Remember these great sets are only available from i {heart} papers...and there is so many other great things in Kate's store!!

That's it for me tonight.  I have some rice krispy treats to make for my son's school and a bit of relaxing to do!  Have a great weekend!!

Felt Flowers (& Mint Motif)

Good Morning!  Happy Thursday - almost St. Patrick's Day!  I have a nephew and a good friend of the boys born on St. Patrick's Day so it is always a great excuse for a celebration!!  I just had to come back and share another Mint Motif project I made with the latest sets!  I have had fun creating with these sets and even have another card to share next week!!  I also wanted to draw your attention to the fabulous felt that Kate has started carrying at i {heart} papers!  I purchased a few colors with my last order and I absolutely LOVE it, especially the color (heliotrope pink) on this card!  It is soft and tightly woven and cuts great - at least it did with the Spellbinders dies I used for this card.

For the card, I started by stamping the background panel with two different shades of green, overlapping the border from Beyond Borders, Too as I moved across the card.  I like the two tone effect it gives the over all card.  I then die cut a piece of green cardstock with a Spellbinders die from one of the banner sets, stamped the sentiment from Simply Sentiments and added it to the card.  Lastly, I die cut those flowers with the Spellbinders Peony dies, added white buttons with green embroidery floss and adhered them to the card.

Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting today!!

Mint Motif Project

Hooray, today I get to share a Mint Motif project made with the two new sets coming out this week!!  They are both fabulous basic sets, with more borders in Beyond Borders, Too and a ton of great sentiments in Simply Sentiments.  They are available exclusively through i {heart} papers!

I used the super trendy and very versatile hexagon background pattern from the set to create a simple background.  Then I trimmed out a few hexagons from the October Afternoon Sasparilla collection, I love the colors in this collection!  I added a label cut from another piece of coordinating patterned paper from the same collection and stamped the sentiment in dark brown ink.  I thought adding a little heart was the perfect addition to this simple, cute card!!

I hope you have enjoyed my little Mint Motif project today, now take a moment to click through to the rest of the featured blogs for even more inspiration!

Have a fabulous and inspiring week!  I have more projects to share with this great set soon!!

Lotus Love

Good Morning!  I have a pretty Hero Arts card to share today using their super awesome, beautiful set Lotus Leaves.  I love the larger sized flower in the set that you can use to fill up a whole card (like I did:))!  The set also has smaller images that are equally pretty and useful!  I used a sentiment from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings also, such a pretty scripted thinking of you.  The paper along the bottom is from Echo Park's Dots & Stripes Soda Fountain collection and was cut with my new Memory Box Pearl Lace Border die.  Did you know i {heart} papers is carrying some Memory Box dies now?  I am so excited about it!!

That's it from me today, it is a snowy wintery day around here which is pretty but also annoying if you have to leave the house...which I do!  Have a great rest of the week!!

Spring Color

Hi there and Happy Wednesday!  One day closer to the weekend-hooray!  We have a three day weekend here in the US to celebrate President's Day so it will be extra nice!  We got some snow last night and it looks so pretty out there - cold but pretty!  Mikey and I cleared off the driveway and then threw snowballs for a while.  I made these two cards the other night with some bright colors that remind me of spring, which I welcome when it finally arrives!  Both have the same layout and design...used a few Hero Arts sets for the one above - You Are The Best, Floral (Sizzix dies & stamps) and Thinking of You Messages

The only things different on this card are of course the color and I used PTI's Turning a New Leaf set and matching dies, also a different sentiment but still from the same set.  I think I like the flourish on the first one better but the turquoise color combo better.

Thanks for visiting with me today, have a great one!!

Valentine Cards

Good Morning!  I haven't made or shared any cards for quite a while it seems...but last night I made some Valentine cards and had fun with some wonderful Hero Arts stamps!  The one above is for a friend, I like to give a few friends little goodies and a card on Valentine's Day.  The hearts are from Hero Arts Many Hearts clear set and the sentiment is from their Celebrate Everyday clear set.  That lovely script background is an older wood stamp from Hero Arts too, one that I purchased a really long time ago and still love!

This card is for my husband, I just love that background and can't wait to use it more.  It is called Watch Gears, the sentiment is from the Many Hearts set too.  I love all the glitter I added to this one, not overwhelming but just enough to highlight all the hearts!!

And last but certainly not least today, is a simple card I made for one of my little boys.  They appreciate simple cards so I just die cut a heart, added some woodgrain paper and glitter - done!!

Thank you for stopping by today and thank you to everyone who ordered stuff from me this last week!  I hope you all enjoy your new stuff!!  Have a very Happy Valentine's Day if I don't stop in before then!!

Updated Sale Page

Hey there!  Just quickly letting you all know that I updated my sale page with a whole lot of Papertrey card stock and twill.  The card stock is all unopened, 50 sheet packs.  If you want any or all of it, please keep in mind that shipping card stock can be expensive so our best bet will probably be priority rate boxes (the larger ones).  Also, the twill is all opened and slightly used but there is still a lot on each spool, I can take it off the spools to send it or just send it on the spools (which will cost slightly more to ship).  I also have quite a few cute stamp sets left in case you're interested!  Please send me an email at geny.cassady@hotmail.com if there is anything you want!  Thank you so much!!!

Cool Scoop Birthday

Hi there!  Today I get to share my last Sweet Stamp Shop card as a member of their Design Team.  I have really enjoyed working with Nicole and the rest of the DT girls, helping Nicole start this fun new company.  Thank you so much Nicole for asking me to be a part of the inaugral team, I loved it!!!  I used one of my favorite all time sets, Cool Scoop, to create a sweet birthday card.
I started by creating a background with the cute little spoon and heart images, using some favorite colors - fuschia and turquoise!  Them I stamped my sweet ice cream cone and colored it with Prismacolor pencils with a little gamsol blending.  I trimmed it out and added it to the embossed panel, before outlining it with glitter.  I really like how the ice cream turned out even though I am so not a "colorer" - I will try to do it more often!

Thank you all for stopping by and for supporting me on my little journey with Sweet Stamp Shop!  I hope you all have a sweet start to the week!!

Against The Grain

Good Morning!  Today I get to share another fun card I made with the new Against the Grain set from Sweet Stamp Shop!  It is such a fun set, full of possibilities, able to be used exclusively or easily combined with other sets.

I took a more masculine approach to this card, using blues and browns and a simple layout.  I am sure that men do not appreciate pink or big poofy bows, but usually they are fine with a little twine and more subdued colors.  I used the large stamp on the bottom to create a background and then added the little circles along the top, instead of stamping each individually, I lined them up on my block and stamped them all at once.  I love that Nicole included 4 separate circles in the set.

Hope you are having a great week!  Thanks for visiting today...we are finally getting some weather this week, here comes winter:)!!

Sweet Stamp Shop Scoops

Today I get to share a fun Sweet Stamp Shop card using the Cool Scoop set, which I love!
I used the individual scoop and paper pieced it with lots of purply, dotty patterned papers!  Then I stacked them right up on a kraft piece that had been embossed with a sort of waffle cone type pattern.  I added a little light purple strip on the bottom to showcase the sentiments!  Perfect little card for a girl's birthday!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Sweet Stamp Shop Release Hop

Hello and welcome to the first day of the Sweet Stamp Shop new release blog hop!

If you arrived here from Donna's blog, then you're in the right place.  If not, you might want to start at the beginning, Sweet Stamp Shop.
Today we are previewing the new Sentimental Birds set, which I totally love.  Some of you lucky folks *might* already have it from last months Scrapbook Steals deal but for the rest of you, it's brand new.  It is a set with lots of nice sentiments and some cute birdies hanging out!  I am going to share two cards I made with it, the one from last months steal and a new one.

This first card is full of pink and lots of lovey dovey sayings!  I just used some Fresh Ink (Fuschia and Slate) to create the background and added a felt heart to the bottom.  Easy peasy!!

Now for my second card, I used lots of different inks to create that rainbow bird background, love how it turned out.  Then I just glued strips of card stock in a rainbow on a thin piece of card stock before die cutting it and adding the sentiment.  At the last minute I decided to add those small glittery hearts, they are my favorite element on this one!
Now, hop on over to Aga's blog for more inspiration!

Many Thanks

Weekends make me lazy!  Sometimes I just hang out in my jammies all day (today) and read, relax, take care of the kids, and eat!  Today I have been working hard on cards though, getting a bunch done for Sweet Stamp Shop and this thank you card.  I need a few thank you cards for some Christmas gifts and I just got this super duper cute Hero Arts Many Hearts set from i {heart} papers!  I love it!!  So I broke it out and layered and stamped and just had fun making a cute card.  I think I will make it in a few different colors and maybe leave off the polka dot border or not.  That is the fun in just creating, you can totally do whatever.you.want.  Like stamp the sentiment slightly crooked but say what the heck, my Grandma will still love it.  By the way, that polka paper is from Jillibean Soup, called Soup Staples...it is a very useful collection!  Go have a great rest of the weekend, I need to get started on dinner!  Thanks for visiting and if you haven't checked it out, go check out my sale page, lots of great stuff!
